Aquire adds three new partners [and removes annual fee]

My email about this also says that Aquire points will remain active as long as long as the business keeps earning or converting points every 18 months. Wasn't that always the case, or is this a change? Speculation about if it includes pending points?

That's what I thought, and I too wondered about pending points up thread. I'd give them a call except I'm away at the moment.

Strictly, a 'point' is a point, and should cover all varieties of points in the class. Pending, bonus and earned. But having pending points expire is a major prod from Aquire to keep earning to 20K at least, so I suspect pending points will still expire

Sorry I missed your post. I need to slow down my skim reading of threads.

I'm a bit conflicted about the annual fee removal. It's a bit of a hit on the financial model I would guess. Suggesting they're getting good money from the points earning. But there were all those bonus points in incentives to sign up.

Points used to keep rolling forward as long as you paid the annual fee - there was no expiration policy. Remove the annual fee, and introduce an expiration policy. As for Pending points the T&Cs still state you need 20,000 points and 2 unique flyers each membership year, so it doesn't look as the rules changed regarding them.

There is still the joining fee:

It seems that you can join without paying a joining fee until the end of February. So if I'm reading it right, I can join up now and don't have to pay any fees.

I might give it a go for my new business for the sake of the occasional bonus point offers. I didn't like the program much for my previous business. The 20,000 point threshold was too high for then and probably still will be now.
