Bonus points have posted on Aquire all in one hit for for flights taken between 7FEB-28FEB...still no bonus SC as yet.

How will Qantas rationalise this when someone's SC counter resets a day or so after flights booked through this offer are flown and those SC are needed to maintain or even upgrade to a higher FF level? Surely they wont hold open someone's status for 8 weeks after renewal date? But they will have to.

I have a colleague waiting for her SC to post and her year ends March 31... It will leave her 5SC of Gold so Im trying to get her to do a quick run. But I want to be sure the SC will post correctly so she doesnt waste time/money.

This affects 2 of my employees - one will make SG the other WP (for the first time) once the SC's post - their year also ends 31st March so they are a bit worried about how it will work

Given the flights need to be taken in the Qual year period it is something that Qantas needs to address. It impacts MrP - flights next week; April 30 renewal.

I'm not a taxation guru but I was under the impression some small businesses didn't have to declare income as it's classed as a hobby (ie hobby farms which wouldn't stand on their own two feet if not for the owners non-financial interests). I could be wrong however.

Theres a threshold for hobby versus business. You also dont have to register for GST if the business turns over less than $70k (or thats what it was when I started). But you can register if you are purchasing wholesale and being charged GST so as to claim back credits.

there is a check list of test to determine if it's a hobby. Not aware of a threshold nor income limit.

Had my ABN cancelled last year. called and it was put back. Personally, AP messages about this is confusing and somewhat contradictory. They complete an IAS (I assume that's like a BAS) but can't claim input credits. Then there is the constant confusion with Aquire. Having an ABN cancelled isn't something to do with Aquire, especially when they haven't joined Aquire. The ATO is not going to even care about Aquire in determining tax liability.

If you do have your ABN cancelled Aquire aren't necessarily going to know about it...

Agreed. but they might look up the business register eventually.
In my case, I'd issued my first invoice about 3 weeks before the ATO sent me a letter. They were happy to accept that work had taken a bit longer to get than expected.

I just logged into Aquire and was pleasantly surprised to find that the bonus double Aquire points are regularly posting 7-8 days after the flight :)

Hi Guys,

I can see most people have had the bonus points applied, but just to confirm no one has received any of the bonus status credits as yet?

Thanks
Martin

Qantas are in general excellent about back dating to the scheduled date of departure. I don't think there is any pressing need to address the issue. Once the required SC come in expect adjustments. If not call up on a case by case basis.

Well a whole bunch of my bonus SC's just got updated, for all my flights traveled since the promo began

My SCs have posted today - although they've been rounded down (50% of 15 appears to be 7, not 8).

Ditto, 2 sets of return flights in Feb and March all posted at once

Mine have posted, except the ones I used a gift voucher for, of course :(

The Eagle has landed. Bonus SC posted for flights taken mid February, but not surprisingly, last weekend not just yet (but then the original SC for those are just posting now).

My first lot are in. I was hoping they'd do a bulk upload of all to date, but alas, it wasn't to be.

So sc's landing around 8 weeks after flights. Based on MrP's travel this week, the bonus sc will land a month after his renewal date. Interesting. He will requal anyway for WP so maybe might be best if they don't get adjusted 'back.' But if he hadnt - would Qantas hold the original WP until they did land?
