ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure Card

anyone know when ANZ will allow transfers into velocity? I'm looking to close my account given the lack of flights from next year and need to transfer points out

Booked my flight today, will then book another after my anniversary date on the 18th. They mentioned $133 change fee too.

Was anyone able to order the lounge passes? I was told they'll send it out once the lounge opens in 4 weeks, though i bet i'll have to follow them up..

@Zanzaid I called today to change the dates/times of the my bookings made a month or so ago. They rambled on a bit about "their access to cheap getaway fares and if there aren't any cheap T class then you pay the difference". I reminded him that VA are not charging any fees other than fare differences.

Low and behold, the price I was quoted to change, plus the fare amount I can see they've paid for the ticket (in MMB), added up to the cost of getaway fares for my dates/route.

I was told that lounge passes would be automatically sent out. Yeah right.

Can someone remind what the T&C's are for the flight reward. With the move to take this benefit away they have made it very hard to find for those with two weeks to go!

Just to clarify, they did not change you any change fee and you only have to pay the fare difference in order to make the flight change?

I booked a MEL-PER flight for January, but now I am worried that WA will revert back to the hard border with the latest development in SA and thinking about changing my flight to a different destination if there's no change fees.

The main ones are that the cardholder must be the traveller, booked at least 60 days out, and T class fare availability. (Back on page 3, Sludge321 gave a good example of how to use ITA Matrix to check.)

Yes that's correct - fare difference, inc any tax differences (??). But I had to remind them that that was VA's policy.

I don't know if that applies to destination changes as I only changed the dates. Might be a different issue if VA cancel your flight though, as opposed to you requesting a change.

Didn't they use to have a map of where you could fly to?
They did. I tried googling it, but no luck. I also tried the Way Back Machine, but the map doesn't display.

I know that from Canberra, only the direct routes (at the time) were on offer; SYD, MEL, ADL, BNE & OOL. There were way more destinations available from SYD and MEL, so we used it for SYD-PER return, and did CBR-SYD separately.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This includes a list of flights that used to be available.

Just to add to that, keep in mind that it needs to be a direct flight. I was planning to redeem for SYD-DRW, which is on the map and an eligible route, but Virgin stopped flying that route direct. The ANZ rep wouldn't let me book via BNE. This does limit your options somewhat when VA is operating a reduced network at the moment.

Realised I had a few screenshots of the destination maps saved locally from the last time I went to plan the free flight. Will include them here in case the visuals make it easier for some people (I know I certainly liked looking at the map, not just the destination list).

Here's from Sydney:

Obviously the maps are a tiny bit out of date (e.g. VA no longer flies to Ayers Rock), but hopefully they help. :)

EDIT: Just spent an hour on hold waiting to book a Darwin flight, only for the operator to say they couldn't see one on the date I wanted (they said they could only see an indirect flight, even though a non-stop was on sale and had T9 availability). However, the operator hadn't even asked for the date of the returning flight, so it seemed they also weren't searching for the correct fare in the first place. They couldn't put me through to anyone else so I've asked them to have somebody else call me back, sigh.

ANOTHER EDIT: Didn't want to wait so called back and spoke to somebody else who was much more helpful. They had a similar problem with not seeing the flight I wanted (which was showing T9 in ExpertFlyer), but after checking on the VA site that a flight did indeed exist, they found a workaround: first, they booked an indirect flight (I wanted BNE-DRW, so they had to book BNE-MEL-DRW), then they got hold of their VA liason to switch it to BNE-DRW direct before issuing the ticket. End result, I have my free return flight booked as BNE-DRW-BNE, as planned.

Sharing in case anyone else runs into a similar issue with "computer says no", particularly with only a few days left to get any final free flights booked!

I was on hold for over an hour this morning before I gave up. Guess I've just got to be more patient...
Only a few days left to get it done.

I booked flight a month or so ago for mid 2021.
Was told no lounge passes as lounges closed.
I called again when Brisbane lounge opened. Was told no passes until they were opened. I advised that Brisbane had already opened and mentioned press release and Virgin web site.
Was told they could do nothing until Virgin told them.

Anyone else had any luck re lounge passes for the future flights?

I booked SYD-MEL return for the AUSGP next March (gee ...fingers crossed) just a month ago. They offered me lounge passes during the call.

I also note I copped the annual fee of $170 in Oct. I guess they probably would have refunded that if I'd complained (but if course, then they would not have allowed be to book the flight). Unfortunately I did not use last year's flight credit, I must say I found availability quite hard with ANZ. I think this card will be going soon, has been good while it lasted.

Hmm, I was told two lounge passes would be sent to me when I booked my flights more than a month ago, but they still haven't arrived. Should I do anything?

I think they're closed on weekends, so there's really just today and Monday left.

I was just on hold when I started having a look at this thread. 10 mins in, sounds like it might be a while. Will report back how long it takes.

Fortunately the NRL draw came out yesterday so I am planning to book when the Raiders are playing the Roosters in Perth.

My next meeting today is not until 3pm so I do have a bit of time. Looks like I am going to be working in my office with annoying hold music for the next couple of hours!!

yes I was told the same and I also said the same thing.
I said SYD lounge is now open, and she said that Virgin had not told them anything but will be sent out once Virgin gave the go ahead
