Just a tip if you threaten to cancel they will try to get you to keep the card by increasing the points earned by 0.5 for the visa and Amex.

No offer was made to me so I cancelled this card.

Just submitted application. Love that 60 second countdown, decisions, decisions... Manual review of course and I'm really not liking my chances as I've had 2 applications in under a month, but it's the best $0 card with bonii points right now :)

Hi Plant

I called yesterday, was told no such offer exists and full annual fee applies.

Did you have any luck?
anyone else have info on this?

Cheers
PDS the offer pages which clearly state the deal, who cares what a CSR says if you have proof ! Threaten FOS and they'll fold.

I will probably cancel the card soon because everything with ANZ is a hassle.

I always find this with ANZ - everything is a hassle. All is fine so long as you don't need to actually deal with them for anything.

My anniversary is coming up in a month or so, its been a good card for points over that time even given the loss of ATO points, but at $400/year, its not -that- good. Fully expect as a no-fee-first-year customer I'll get rejected for a second fee-free year so the hunt is now on to find another VISA/MC worth having in the wallet.

Declined yet had instant approval with ANZ less than a month ago (long story - applied for wrong card). Invested a large '000 figure into ANZ going to ring up and ask for manual review once it hits.

Well I applied 4 pm Thursday, after the countdown clock got provisional approval. Got a call 6.35 pm that night to cover the application and to ask for a payslip from the end of the F/Y or Payment Summary in addition to the two I have provided.

I provided the additional payslip Friday morning, text from ANZ Saturday morning saying application accepted and the cards should arrive in 2-5 days. Seemed fairly easy so far, now for the $2,500 qualifying spend and see how long the 75,000 bonus points takes to be credited.

What wasn't obvious to me (I wasn't an existing ANZ customer) was once they arrived I had to go down to the branch and do the usual ID run around before I could activate them.

Hope you have better luck than my husband - minimum spend reached 2 months ago (3 statement cycles in), and still waiting for the bonus points to be credited. Our experience is that ANZ tend to sit on them for as long as possible (as opposed to AMEX that usually credit the next day).

Just applied and got instant approval, let's see whether they will apply the promo correctly. Closed the previous card in Aug 2015 and can't wait to get back on board, the earn rate on the visa card is really good.

Those of you that recently applied, "do you have an ANZ account already?" ie Internet banking offer?

Yes to both.

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

Internet banking offer is a landing page that is available to anyone, i.e. you don't actually need to have an existing account, i.e. https://www.anz.com.au/personal/cre...black/?pid=crc-ibr-nt-ib-06-27-acq-anzffblack

IT is quite possible that ANZ only intended to make this available to existing account holders but that's largely irrelevant from a legal standpoint, they did not make it part of the terms and conditions that you have an account already (and I've pdf'ed the pages should they become problematic to show FOS).

In fact the Terms and conditions on this landing page suggest the offer is for new customers only (my bolding)

1. Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account. This is a limited time only offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card within the previous twelve months. This offer applies only once per eligible customer. This is a limited time only offer available through internet banking which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Your application must be approved and you must activate the card and make $2,500 worth of eligible purchases (purchases which are not eligible to earn Points are described in the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Reward Terms and Conditions (PDF 1.67MB), for example fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers, premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance and transactions for gambling or gaming purposes will not earn Points) within three months of approval to receive the bonus Qantas Points. The bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your ANZ account within three months of the eligible spend criteria being met. If you transfer or cancel your new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account before the introductory bonus Qantas Points are processed to your account, you may become ineligible for these bonus Qantas Points. ANZ will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever resulting from a delay in the process of receiving and/or approving an application or activating the card. The Total Annual Fee, and any Additional Cardholder Fees and Rewards Program Services Fees applicable to additional cardholders on the account, will be waived for the first year. After the first year for ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, a Total Annual Fee of $425 applies which includes a $370 Annual Account Fee and a $55 Rewards Program Services Fee, for additional cardholders an Additional Cardholder Fee of $10 and Rewards Program Services Fee of $55 will apply per additional cardholder on the account. These fees are current as Tuesday, 24 February 2015 and are subject to change. The fee information displayed on this page applies to new customers only. Existing customers may be subject to different fees and should call 13 22 73 for information regarding the fees that apply to their account.

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

I can access and type in apply info..... I rang them as per previous post and they said need to have account to meet eligible "internet BANKING offer"..... I'm worried about applying and being accepted and then told $395+ annual fee for not having an INTERNET account?
It's been over a year since I had offer on free annual fee before.
There is a question: are you already an Anz customer..... On application.

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

I ended up going to a branch to get a savings + online account. Had my online access reactivated immediately and applied online a few days later.

Approved for the FF black after a couple of phone calls re payslips etc.

Call centre could only confirm eligibility for 75k in pts, it went like this....Mr Coops1 you are eligible....actually only just as you closed the same account 12 months ago in July.....lol. Letter of offer confirmed no annual fee for first 12 months

I would suggest opening an account first just to be more "compliant"...it doesn't hurt.

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

Was it the online saving account.... With no fees.... I'm told I can do over the phone. Just not sure if online account setup (anz info access) worth 75k Qff?

So the letter of offer you received in the mail actually spells out no annual fee for first 12 months? Would keep an eye on it when I receive mine, thought banks normally give a standard letter of offer with no mention of promotions....

ANZ Online Saver and Access Cheque Account. Going into the branch will expedite your online access and 100pt ID checks etc. Why do you ask if its worth 75k? Of course it is.

Spells it out completely, very specific and completely transparent. I didn't realise additional cardholders are only $10 each year after the free year as well! Last year with ANZ did not get the same, nor with others.

Wow this is 14 cards between 2 of us...1.5million pts stored with another 150k already spent on domestic and business rewards!

Nice, good luck with using all those Qantas points, it would take a while to use them all even with J/F redemptions :)
