Does anyone happen to have a saved screen shot of the offer when the annual was waived? After 9 days, I have now been told both online and over the phone by 3 people that this was never an offer!

There are no words for how hopeless anz are... I don't have a screenshot, but I do have a response from a complaint of mine that seems to have the promotion T&Cs on it

Depends on when you applied for the product.

I applied in late July, got approved in early August, but didn't activate the card until I got home from overseas at the end of August. Therefore I haven't got a statement yet, but I will use this information if they try and charge me the annual fee.

My wife applied in July, but we were on holidays in Europe and only got back recently. They said she needed to come to the bank in person to bring in her payslipds from work. This only happened 2 weeks ago, and she received the cards yesterday, but still needs to go to a branch to do a security check. Will this mean that because the card wasn't approved before X-August, she will not be eligible for the offer, therefore have to pay the yearly fee of $295 ? If that's the case, she might as well cancel it before activating it.

Thanks, coles525. Hopefully this will get the idiots to listen to me.

It was well before the cut off date of August 26th. 3 different people all told me that such an offer has never existed, ever. It is astounding how incompetent the ANZ staff have been, even when I politely ask them to go double check.

Yeah. Multiple levels of incompetence ;) I got the run-around for a couple weeks myself but the payoff will be worth it.

I'm just hoping that the pay off actually posts once the 4 months are up. Although, I now have it in writing from them that I am eligible for the 50,000 QFF points, so that's something. I guess.

Yes unfortunately I do believe the card had to be approved by 30-Aug. You didn't need to receive or activate it, but it did need to be approved.

FWIW in my welcome pack(s) it said (for both basic and plat cards) that I would have the annual fee for the first year waived.

My branch's total balls up with this, for my parents and I, has lead us to have a meeting with a regional ANZ manager in the coming days. Between the three of us we've been ANZ customers for more than 40 years and this is one inconvenience too many.

My Father and I have met with a regional manager who has confirmed that, in my case where I got both the Black and the basic card, I will receive 2 x 50k. The manager mentioned that both he and a number of his staff applied for more than one card with a view to doing exactly what I am - more points.

That's good to finally get some confirmation.
