Anyway to upgrade w class after ticketing?

From the SQ website:
For redemption of upgrades from Economy to Premium Economy Class or Business Class, only tickets purchased in Y, B or E booking classes on flights operated by Singapore Airlines or SilkAir are eligible.
Which is a bit odd, because W class is still classified as Full Fare economy, but obviously not as "Full" as Y, B or E.
