Hi all,

Used them a few times in USA and not sure I will be back....is there any porting or use for this amount of points before they expire?

i think you can buy stuff with your points, like buying gift cards, music downloads etc. visit the mileage plus awards site for details

I think Oz to SIN/BKK in J RT is 60k? I consider that as a good use!

Do you have a VPN? Join their opinion miles club, but to be able to access the surveys you need to simulate your ip address to be in the USA. By doing the surveys you keep your points active but also get you points up to an even amount like 48,000. You probably also keep your points active with E rewards.

Also every once in a while [FONT=arial, geneva]MileagePlus have 50% off point sales where you can buy up to 150 thousand points.

You would need 170k points for travel in J and 230k points for travel in F to Europe from Australia.

No VPN so any other ideas, other than buying points which I don't plan on doing?

Can also earn using i-tunes store, kobo books or other online e-retailers through the mileage plus shopping portal.

Otherwise just to keep the miles active, pick a random hotel address in US to subscribe to a magazine for 400 miles.

A $1 purchase on i-tunes via the UA portal will do it!

So therefore the magazine goes to them?
Can you get it sent to a home address in San Diego????

Yes. That's the general idea with mag subscriptions - send them to home address in US.

Sending to a hotel is something that would only be necessary if you don't know anyone in the US to send to a personal address.

Hotels can be quite useful as a place to send stuff you really don't need or just as a sign up address (where your usual contact method is online or email)!!

sorry seems to be 500 miles to charity now
keeps them alive for another 18 mths
