Flying in J is the priority, followed by QF status credits, followed by lounge access. The EK fares would be perfect except for the lack of status credits.

Consider flying out of Bangkok with Finnair. Plenty of Euro destinations pricing about $2.5k, with QF status credit earn and a lounge.
