Hi everyone. I am travelling with my husband & toddler to HNL with Jetstar this Sat, 6 Apr 2013. I am a QC member so we can get into the lounge fine. However we are also travelling with another family of 3 – one is also a toddler so I don’t think she would count as a “guest”. Just checking with my Australian Frequent Traveller family if there are anyone travelling solo this Sat where they can be your “guest” into the lounge. Our flight leaves at 6pm & we plan to check in right on 3 hrs prior. Hope to hear from you soon!

But the issue may be the number of adults - if the OP is the only QC member then they will not be able to take in 3 adult guests (partner and the two adult friends).

Indeed, that is one family too many.

QC will often turn a blind eye to an extra child (though they are tougher internationally, but a whole extra 2 adults, I think not.

Yes, unfortunately I am the only person with QC card & can only bring hubby & child in. I don't think they will let me bring in an additional 2 adults & a child. BUT straight after I posted I received a call from Jetstar offering me to upgrade to biz class at a cost of $429 pp (each way). I told her I've paid for upgrade at the airport & it was much cheaper (under $300 from memory). She said the cheapest she can do is $329 but for this discounted price I will not have lounge access & will not earn any FF points. After much deliberation I opted for the $429 option. This way, the other family can go into the lounge with hubby & my biz class boarding pass & I will use my QC card. The question now is how do I get an additional boarding pass printed for myself to present with my card at entry. Anyone has any ideas? OR can each biz class boarding pass bring in a guest?

Sorry wont work. Your QFF number is on your BP and will be scanned as you enter the QP. If someone then uses your card to enter it will show you've already entered, nor will the BP match the card.

You run a very real risk of being penalised for letting someone else use your QC card or BP to gain entry.

First off the OP would not need to show their QC card as the business boarding pass alone provided entry.

On the toddlers: under 4 they don't count against guest allowance so you are able to get both into the lounge. Even if 4 or over you can get both into the lounge.

I assume you have upgraded your whole family, so have 3 business passenger eligible to enter. I can't find the lounge access table on the qantas website (has this been removed?). [-]So I can't check if business is allowed a guest. If they were then you'd be set. However, I think it's unlikely for Jetstar business max.[/-] edit: found it, no guest

[-]Looking a the Jetstar website it say you will receive complimentary access to the lounge. I wonder if this means they give you a QC pass. In that case again you'll be fine. I would suggest asking about how to access the lounge when checking in, in case they forget the pass or something. Doing this in a "I don't know what I'm doing" manner might be helpful.[/-] Edit: on the BP, so this thought is wrong.

If they don't give you a pass then you're just over the limit, by one adult. Your husband and child have access from the business max, the second child is your guest (actually both children can be) and one of the other adults is your guest. I'd suggest against trying to scam into the lounge in this situation. Instead front up together, explain you're one person over and ask if they could please be kind enough to let the extra person in, pretty please with sugar on top. That sort of thing.

BTW have you checked the lounge meeting thread?
