My Alt Plat is fee free for life - I find it interesting that no one else is, or they have been and then had it withdrawn. If I was told it would be withdrawn I would be straight onto my relationship manager. Ive had a loans with Westpac going back to early 2Ks. Started off with gold free fee as part of the Pr. Package, then got upgraded to Plat. I said ok but only if its free fee. The offered it for one year then waived it 'for life' the next. Probably the only reason Ive kept it unlike the Amex Qantas Ultimate which Ive had free fee but no joy this year so cancelling - not worth $450 for a QF 'free flight' that's limited in availability.

Westpac do not and have not ever given what is now Altitude Platinum Plus (previously Altitude Platinum) fee free for life under any circumstance, except to staff. It may be possible to have the fee waived or refunded for a number of years, but not automatically for life. What is now Altitude Platinum (Previously Altitude Gold) has always been part of Premier Advantage home loan package and has had no annual fee whilst on the package.

Correct.... waived first year but after that show me the annual fee

My card expires shortly and on has Alt Plat written on it, but just checked my online statement and definitely is a Plat Plus account. As for free for life, Im happily going into my 6th year now with no fee and no mention EVER of a fee being re-introduced. Make of that what you will! [Edit:spelling]

Are you getting 3 altitude points per $ on your Amex??? That will confirm it.

Online statement says 'Altitude Platinum Plus Card' but no mention of earn rate (Ive never really cared to look before). Spend last month approx. $3700, $800 on M/C, $2900 on Amex, 9500 Alt points credited so safe to say def a Plus.

I was told it would be for life, but I've had to call up to get my fee waived every single year. I've been told almost every year that there's no such thing, and the most recent encounter I was told it would absolutely be my last. It was only when I proceeded to cancel that they waived it again. Will be going through the same hassle in a few months' time...

My gf used to work there, and apparently our cards (i'm supplementary) are fee free for life - hope they stick to that as we put all our spend on it now since cancelling the platinum charge (has same earn rate 1.5 MR pts per $1 for amex)
