Has anyone MEL-DPS on Airasia business class? What's the verdict on service and seating? Thanks for all your replies :D

If it is on the A330 it is the same as their MEL-KUL services so search for reviews on that. 2 rows of angle lie flats in 2-2-2 format. Zero service. No IFE, mediocre food. Great hard product for the price generally.

Flew back from Beijing to KL on a very early morning flight (3am) May 2014. The difference in price between Premium economy and economy in this case was not big. Found the seats very adjustable and better than QF business class seats which I flew SIN-MEL a couple of nights later. There's a separate egress and exit so you don't have the economy people walking through. Can't remember IFE or food. There was a crying baby next to me, I got the impression that a few families with say one child, the husband would fly economy and the wife and child premium economy. "Great" I thought, had been looking forward to this for months and I get a crying baby. Had a word with the female FA, she saw another woman with a child on the other side of the PE area, spoke with here, moved me over there and the 2 women together. Explained this worked very well as one could look after the others child if they need to go to bathroom, etc. This FA handled this situation with real aplomb. Suspect with many carriers that you'd have just been stuck!

have flown the business class product many times. Hard product great, soft product is bdget airline.

having said that, I did notice you get a bit more service on a KUL - TPE flight this month. At least now they offered extra water bottles and tea coffee. Meal is stil very basic, but then food at the airport is pretty cheap so I fuel up pre flight and then have my meal closer to landing as a snack.

The 40KG of luggage could be useful if you plan to shop a lot.

I'm happy to pay the usually modest extra amount for the business class with AAX. Definitely better than say what TG / OZ / QF / MH (currently) have into Australia for Asian Routes.
