Has it gone down the same road as the announcements for the Hilton Coral Bay and Hilton around Busselton/Margaret River?

The site has moved, looks like chasing gov money:

I can't see it going ahead. Construction is all but finished. Most major projects are well into the production phase. This requires minimal external input. The need for rooms in KTA has died off.

Even the flights now are nowhere near what they were 3 years ago!

I can vouch for the flights dropping off. Booked JASA : BNE-PER-KTA to be taken next week and they phoned me last week to tell me that due to an aircraft change and the dropping of some flights I now have to do PER-KTA in Y OMG !!! How much can one bear ? Lol. However after some negotiating with the more than capable agent we agreed to leave points/payment the same and they will award me J status credits which was essentially what I was chasing.

Well, that clears something up. I've googled Doubletree/Hilton/Karratha, etc, every month or two for the past 18 months and found nothing new.

Yeah, I think it's the Qantaslink 717s that are full economy, but even in the QF 737s business class is pretty vacant, and economy is 60-70% full on my recent flights.
