any problems with award cancellation on Etihad ?

hi all,

im thinking of pushing the button on an award on Etihad via Velocity. there's a small chance i may need to cancel in the future, has anyone had any issues in getting their points refunded? Generally how long do points and taxes take to get back to your account?
