Looking at flying MNL to DUB with Etihad in March next year. Would prefer to go to LHR instead of DUB, but that routing costs about $600 more, although I have found a flight that goes via LHR with an Air Lingus connection to DUB significantly cheaper. Does anyone know if there would be any issue with just not turning up for the Air Lingus flight and staying in London? Thanks in advance.

If it’s a return, the booking will be cancelled following a ‘no show’.

If it’s one way, the connection time in heathrow will need to be say four or more hours if you want to short check any bags… otherwise they’ll probably tag them straight through. Hand luggage only won’t be a problem.

Also wise not to include any FF number in the booking, if the airline is tracking hidden city tickets and decides to crack down, especially if you want to do this again in future, you could have your account suspended and lose your points.

But as a one off, especially if you only have hand luggage, and are flying one way, it’s doable!
