Hello everyone,

I tried to look in this forum for an answer regarding the possibility of getting discounts on airfares from Singapore. I will be having my wedding in melb next year and my friends, relatives will be flying from/via Singapore. I wonder if I can get any discount from airlines for flying them in.

I know I can get group discounts for hotel bookings but am not sure about airfares.

Thanks in advance~

Most airlines will do group bookings for more than ten people. A simple phone call to them with the question should put you on the right track.

I don't know if it'll be a discount or just opening of a low fare bucket, but you'd be best off calling the airlines and asking what they can do.

Airfares from SIN are normally cheap anyway so not sure if you will be able to get any discount for group bookings but it does not hurt to try.

If you already know the dates then keep an out on any specials that may be released.

Group bookings tend to not be a discount, on the contrary they tend to be more expensive than just buying individual discount fares. What they tend to offer is flexibility - the ability to change passenger names, not need to confirm names until the last minute (and potentially date / time / refund type flexibility). All very convenient if trying to organise a large group - but you pay for it.
