24hrs…... tick.. tick..tick..tick..tick…..tick……..tick……………..tick……………………….tick………………………………………………..
Poor internet I’d say. Or just having a wonderful time and too busy to post, I hope!

In the last few days I find that I’m looking for an update to this thread first, then look at the rest.
Waiting for more details with great interest!

Ok fixed up the bird photos. Just blown away by the scenery here and penguins and more penguins and yet more penguins. They are just too beautiful - the way they leap in and out the sea and stand on floating ice and the way one goes into the water and then they all go into the water (just like wildebeest).

We have seen a lonely Emperor penguin too and 4 different types of seals and masses of whales.

In good news we have all removed our patches and so far so good - feeling great at the moment.

The internet is slow and loading photos can be problematic. Have some fabulous ones from Mr FM and SIL - hopefully will get to post some soon.

We have an activity in the morning and then in the afternoon and of course a large amount of time is spent with Ms FM and husband, so not really a lot of free time.

Starting to get a bit tired of dressing up for excursions - all those layers!!

What's happened to the icebergs?

And it looks far too calm to be a REAL Drake crossing ;):D:p.
It was definitely Drake Lake and we were as sick as a dog. Now we are in the Peninsula area it is pretty calm.

Today was the first day Mr FM felt able to look at a screen - he has promised me photos from the 8th, but it is going to be slow - between excursions and lectures and eating and playing games with the ankle biters, there is very little time.

The icebergs are stunning and we did a zodiac excursion through the brash ice this morning, so got really close.

Be patient people - some beautiful photos to come :)

It’s the second smallest, but perfectly comfortable and the balcony is very useful. The walk in wardrobe has heaps of space. I have to load 1 at a time so it will take awhile :)

Did your hire boots work out ok? Sorry to hear MrFM was so poorly. Hopefully he will be over it now and you will all have your sea legs.
Yes, the Adelies are so funny, though I loved all of them. You were lucky with the King. They have usually gone from the peninsula by now.
Cabin looks great. I know what you mean about all the layers! Though I managed to pare it down a bit as it didn’t seem as cold as I anticipated.
Knew you would love the place....once you got there. :)

We are all good now and eating and drinking. :). I am lying on the bed drinking Pommery and about to do some photos. Our butler seems to put a new bottle in as soon as we open one. I asked for a champagne cork, as we like to drink it over a few days.

The cold is variable - we’ve done a few zodiac cruises and they were cold, but just come back from a hike up a hill and I was terribly over dressed.

We were very lucky to see the Emperor penguin!

The hire boots are excellent - fitted perfectly. What they do is anyone who has hired boots that don’t fit can swap them with ship boots. Then after that, anyone without boots can see if there is any to fit them. I was really glad we hired them as they have been excellent with all the wet landings and the snow.

I was up to my knees in snow today - glorious stuff.

The Emperor penguin is the one on the ice flow - he is on the right with Gentoos at the other end. I have requested icebergs from my photographers - they have taken hundreds of photos of scenery, but keep giving me wild life.
