Hi guys n girls.

I'm Platinum and flying with my wife, son and mother-in-law ( don't ask ) from SYD to SCL on Wednesday and I was hoping to try and charm the whole posse into the F Lounge - likely or unlikely? I know the rules will let me bring the wife and son.

Back up plan, can I go to the J lounge, guest in the son and Mother-in-law, leave them there and go to guest my wife into the F lounge?

thanks in advance.

I had no luck with my daughter as a 2nd guest a few weeks ago- but the lounge was very busy with the US flights. J lounge was busy as well.

You should be able to take him in without him counting towards your count yes.

It looks to be quiet around the 1250 dep for the flight to SCL. You might get lucky! otherwise, its into the J lounge for the mother in law...

at least she isn't in the terminal. but I guess she might be if she annoys you in the morning?

I believe they are quite strict wrt any adult guests beyond the allowed one, so I think it unlikely.

Be THAT on your own head :)

They are pretty strict and so they should be. If people were allowed to bring in 3 guests then the lounge would soon be a debacle.

So will the F lounge staff stop my wife and I from going in after guesting in folks to the J lounge?

There has been some talk that when you check into the F lounge, the QF 'system' will see you as having already entered the J lounge and guested one (adult) in already, but I haven't heard that its a certainty or even definitely true. Think you should be OK.

I think it should be okay too, I've put in J upgrades from PE so hopefully my mother-in-law can just go in with my son and I won't even have to bother guesting at all.

suparockin,
I'd be surprised if they don't let you in, I have flown with my wife and 3 kids on Jetstar and had no issues getting into the F lounge.

That's a different situation. Qantas have a family policy allowing 2 kids under 18 in addition to your guest allowance plus other kids at discretion of Lounge Manager. suparockin has two adults that they wish to guest in addition to the child.

I asked politely in August at F check in whether I could get one extra. They were a bit unsure but they phoned the lounge and they said OK !

I did pull the "I'm flying F ( upgrade )and I'm a WP so would be great if I could have one guest for each"

Don't know if that made a difference

It would be interesting to hear the answer to this dilemma.

I believe as a Platinum you are entitled to one guest into the business lounge and one guest into the First lounge. Are there any rules that exclude you from guesting into each lounge or that the person needs to be the same person? I know a Platinum would be entitled to visit each lounge.
