A really good night; I hope you road trip to KL went smoothly. Flew on a seeming rocket last night back to Oz; Skyshow was indicating ground speeds of over 1000kmph for much of the time.

Quite tired now; I have really overdrawn my "sleepbank" and I am paying it back with much interest. :?
Just arrived back in Singapore from KL. Trip went really smoothly, but a longish ride each way in the car. Although my boss was doing some low flying - up to 160kph at times! JW Marriott in KL is a very nice hotel. One of our company's suppliers in KL insisted on taking us out to as many different restaurants and cuisine types as possible. Can't say I'd like to have Bak Kut Teh again for a while. Rough translation is Pig Organ Soup. :x

Home tomorrow on QF32. :D

I'm not surprised about the snow in SEL. Japan has had it's biggest ever (?) snowfall this season with over 100 people dying in various accidents (falling off the roof clearing snow/ trapped in buildings etc). Living in SPK where snow is on the ground for 5 months a year, I'm over the white christmas thing - prefer to head to the beach :D .
So maybe I should try for north-east asia for a white christmas then? May have more luck than north america and northern europe...
Yep, CTS would be a sure thing, and only a short (direct) hop from ICN. To give you an idea, the weather forecast for yesterday/ today said light snow, yet we've had over half a metre in the last 24 hours. To give you an idea of the consistency, look here:

Thanks. Say do you want a snowless christmas next year? Maybe I should contract out to places that get too much snow? Maybe I could get paid to stay away from ski areas that want more snow?

Good Idea :D . I'd have no hesitation to pay & put you on a plane here today, but the thousands of other Aussies/ Kiwis visiting Niseko (to ski/ board) would kill us :D . And next year I won't need your services; I'll probably be in sunny Qld somewhere 'round Chrissy  .

BTW, I saw somewhere in your TR a new acronym I didn't know - Wxx_X - referring to no magic wand availability - they had to pad you down. Care to share the acronym & meaning so I can add to the Abbrev. thread?

WTMD = walk through metal detector

That's the thing you walk through (obviously  ), and if absent requires wanding or, depending on how eager the security agent is, a free body massage.

Now I see it, I don't see how I didn't get it the first time  . Cheers, will add to the "abbreviations and explanations" thread.

Hi Kiwi,

Just started my Star Alliance C class trip to LAX (via SIN, CMB, MLE, DXB, BKK and return via JFK, BKK, CMB, SIN).

It's 5.20 am here in CMB, and I'm sending you this from Sri Lankan's "Serendib" lounge (not sure if you've been in it, but it's the nicest lounge I've been in anywhere on or near the Sub-continent).

My EK (yes, I know it's strictly not *A, but my MP account should get the miles) flight to MLE leaves in about 4 hours. If anything (remotely) exciting happens, I'll let you know.

Bye for now.

I may, Kiwi, but it will be very rough and ready compared with your voluminous reports.

:)

clifford are you going to write up your trip(s)?

I'm a bit wimpish on that really. Probably not.

:)

Hi Kiwi,

I think I might have mentioned previously that I'm off on another trip next week. I'll be away for a couple of weeks.

SYD-SIN-BOM-SIN-SYD on SQ C class (If you're in the SK lounge in SIN, perhaps we can have a chat over a Dom or two).

BOM-LHR-BOM on BD Y class (ouch!).

STN-HHN-DUB-STN on FR (well it's very cheap).

If anything exciting happens, I'll let you know.
