I looked on EF still showing a normal 4 class kangaroo 744 but the seats have drasticly changed from lots of availability to ...

Qantas A380s flew with fuel fault

from news.com.au:

A FUEL gauge fault with the Qantas A380 fleet was identified mid-flight more than two weeks ago but engineers ordered the aircraft to continue flying the scheduled London to Australia routes.

Re: Qantas A380s flew with fuel fault

"...engineers ordered the aircraft to continue flying the scheduled London to Australia routes...the aircraft continued flying the long-haul route for another two weeks before the airline's executives decided the fault was serious enough to ground the fleet..."

Intriguing!

Executives over-ruling the engineers???

I wonder if they were using the grounding as leverage to get the manufacturer to do something about the problem?

I am afraid it was not to be... the F and J cabin actually sold out prior to the flight, apparently 1 free W seat and Y was 100% full !!!
Both the Flounge staff and msyelf were amazed that a wednesday night flight would be 100% full.

Was an ok flight though... watched a few movies.

Bummer! Oh well.... I've got 40G for my MEL-SIN (QF9) so hopefully it proves to be a nice seat, I believe there is a cutout for ample foot space so looking forward to it :D

And the concorde was an engineering success despite the French not because of them. Just like WW1, WW2 and on and on and on.

Possibly the most glorious 1st post in AFF history. Chapeau!

Yep row 40 or 41 are my picks of seats.
Space is ok :)
