While many other airlines in the USA are announcing profits, AA's parent AMR is still struggling.

From ATW Daily News:

American Airlines’ parent AMR Corp. posted a second-quarter net loss of $11 million, narrowed from a $390 million deficit in the year-ago quarter, and announced yesterday that it has exercised options for 35 additional 737-800s.

Sure, but 2nd and 3rd qtrs are usually the best, and others are making decent profits so not great news for AA.

Wonder if there were any "extraordinary" items to account for it, or just usual operations?
