Amex Rewards to Etihad Miles transfer time?

Just checking if anyone has any real world data-points on how long the transfer process takes between Amex Rewards and Etihad Guest Miles.

Have found a redemption I'd like to make but a little worried with the potential of '5 Business Days' stated on the Amex website.

I have zero experience using Etihad Miles and this seems a long time to wait and hope the seats remain available (unless they can be reserved somehow?)

In my experiences the transfers to other partners are immediate so unsure how accurate this timeframe is?

Would love if anyone could share some feedback.

Belated reply, as I just happened to see your post last night, when I was in the process of working out exactly your query, so I thought I'd post my experience for you and others who might be in a similar boat.

I had a relatively urgent flight change to make for a family member who's overseas currently and my best option was points on Etihad. Unfortunately, I noticed that AMEX stated a 7 business day transfer time and some online research tended to suggest it could even be longer (with the occasional dissenter) and I need to book the flight in the next few days.

I started by doing a test transfer of 1,000 AMEX points to see what happened.

The next day, I rang AMEX to discuss and received the response I expected, which was '7 days' and they alluded to the fact that some of their airline partners do the transfer swiftly and some not so swiftly...

I thought I'd call Etihad out of interest (albeit I'd given up on the transfer being realistc) and the rep said that in his experience, the AMEX points transfer usually happens within a few hours or at most 24 hours

Sure enough, a few hours after talking with him (18hours since the test transfer), the AMEX transferred points appeared in my Etihad account!

Unfortunately, the reward flight option I wanted had gone, but that happens...
