Amex Referral GONE?!?!?!

Perhaps unrelated, but I had a referral bonus for a family member who signed up some months ago hit my account today, it could be a sign the referral system is back up and running.

Not sure it means much. Amex are terrible at expiring outdated and old pages (2012-2013 financial year bonus partner):

The difference is the T&C's on that page show that the promo expired at 30/06/13. IIRC when you go through the referral system the bonus points are still valid according to the dates.

The whole referral system actually came offline for a couple of weeks as well. This is the first sign of life.

Odd.

My past experience was that the referrer always got their points as soon as the new member signed up, was approved and activated their card.

That yours took so long may indicate that it is being manually checked and authorised (ie actually checking that the referrer was indeed like to be a friend etc), as opposed to what previously was clearly a fully automatic process.

So i just referred a couple of people over the last two days and went in there tonight to refer someone else and the link has been taken away!

They've updated the top menu when in 'my account' and when I click through the 'refer a friend' link it takes me back out the main page!

I wish they would stop playing with the links!

Yeah no dramas... I sat with two of them at work today and walked them through the sign up! So fingers crossed the points come through!

Amex confirmed to me through an account message that the referral system has been taken offline indefinitely again... with, once more, no explanation or ETA on it's return.

Anyone willing to refer mefor an Amex Card, i am a beginer in to Amex world so a suggestion on which card to get will be great as well. Also wanted to know if it iseasy to start with one card and move up.

Thanks for the referral, but I wanted to ask if there is a referral for Qantas discovery as well as a beginner card as I guess my income ($55K+)from two sources but they kind of not accepting it and rejected my plat edge and even plat rewards application.
So I am now wondering to begin with qantas discovery to have a bit of history with them and then make my way up to plat edge.
