Amex Referral Bonus Query

Does anyone have any data points on how the Amex referral bonus works when the person referred chooses a different card from the one linked to the referral?

For example, if I send my Amex Platinum referral link to a family member, my referral offer says I’ll receive 75k points if they apply for the Platinum... but what if they select Velocity Platinum?

The reason I’m asking is that the current Velocity Platinum offer appears to be 60k points via the referral link, compared with 70k + 30k when applying directly.
So I’m wondering:

What referral bonus would I receive if they choose the Velocity Platinum through my Platinum referral link?

it is my understanding you must hold the card they are choosing.
my husband cannot refer someone to Plat charge even though he has a supplaimentry
he can only refer an edge even though he holds a heap of others in his account they are all sups.

I hold the plat charge but dont want another one in the family..

I took the safer router and applied for the QF card for my partner since the bonus points using the referral link and going direct was the same.

I'll report back in a few months to see if the same referral bonus (75k) from my Plat charge came through or not.
