Amex qantas ultimate,,aust post billpay & paypal

Does anyone know what the earn rate will be going forward if we use Australia Post BPAY and link this card to PAYPAL. I think it will only be .5 instead of 1.5 but am not 100% sure

It is 1.5 points per $ if you use paypal - that's because you're actually 'paying' paypal & not the company on the bill.

I was just concerned it was going through Australia Post and it talks about .5 ???

Definately not. The payment is to paypal, well that is who your credit card issuer sees, so with AMEX you'll earn 1.5 points as paypal is considered an ordinary purchase.

Just paid our council rates this way last week and we got 1.5 points paying through paypal & Auspost billpay

This seems to have now changed since previous discussion, have a read of this thread Pay bill through Paypal by using Amex card, but still only receive 0.5 rewards points
