Does anyone have any experience booking with FHR and paying with another Amex card?

Thinking to book Hilton through Plat FHR but pay using Hilton Amex for 14x...

The closest I've come to that is booking using my primary plat card but paying with the A/C one. I presume you're not prepaying. If so I think you'd get away with it. On check-in present your plat card for the hold but on check-out just give them a different card. By this time you've had/used the benefits and I can't see them kicking up too much of a stink at this point.

I would book it via AMEX Travel/Concierge for the hotel. They will ask you if you want to pay now or pay at the hotel. Let them know you want to pay at the hotel. Once you are there, they will ask you for a card that you want to pay/put a hold on. Just use whatever card you want. To the hotel, they don't care. They are getting paid.

After sitting on the phone for 75 minutes, on 25th February, I sent a request to Amex Travel to change names on a booking, I get this apalling response. Seriously for a long term Platinum client paying $1400 a year?

And, ps, Amex travel never answers the phone and live chat is non-existant.

Heaven knows (but I do) how one would get on if one had some emergency related to travel.

Advice: Don't use Amex Travel. Book direct or through a reliable travel agent.

Just as a followup to this .. when checking in to Fiji airways flight LAX-NAN last week they specifically look for insurance covering covid and the document you folks provided was key .. also I had highlighted the Policy Number on the print out I handed the checkin agent and this seemed to satisfy him. Though my preference would be to have something more substantial/specific like AXA provides to certain AMEX holders as outlined here:

When I stayed at the Langham in Melbourne booked via the Amex portal and tried to give them a Mastercard they told me I must use Amex

hey all, been doing a search re Lufthansa lounge access with the platinum card, and seems to be conflicting info.

Amex Platinum Australia doesn’t list it as as a benefit
However Non Aus plat cards do list German airport Lufthansa lounges as included.
LoungeBuddy says no
The Amex platinum lounge dedicated website says yes - even though its content is provided by lounge buddy.

Anyone tried their luck before at Frankfurt or Munich?

The AU Plat card page doesn't explicitly list them, but the Global Lounge Collection is a listed benefit and includes the Lufthansa lounges.

Has anyone had any issues with their Accor Plus membership not auto renewing following their AMEX anniversary?

I renewed my Platinum AMEX at the start of February then my Accor Plus membership expired at the end of February.

I was back and forward with AMEX and Accor all of yesterday and neither party want to take responsibility and fix it.

There seems to be two different membership numbers that may be causing the issue.

Have you changed Accor membership level?

For reasons I don’t understand, Accor change your membership number when you change status. In my case it was a change to the final digit.

My be unrelated, but worth checking.

I have not but Accor changed my membership number when they transferred to Accor Live Limitless.

I have pointed this out to both Accor and AMEX. The response from Accor was

"...it is the same account just the number has changed on shifting to ALL, the free membership only a few digits have changed on it, but the account is the same"

I'm not sure if this wildly known because I did see that it said cards issued from other countries might not work but Resy in the US works with an Aus plat card.

Not Hotel Collection but I booked Fine Hotels and Resorts on Monday night and didn't have any issues.

I just gave it a try and Hilton Sydney showed up for me in the Hotel Collection. In the Menu, I chose Book Hotel Collection rather than Book FHR.

Yep works fine for me. I tried booking via the standard AMEX Travel portal instead of the FHR link. Can see both Hilton and Intercontinental. Wish the Primus was still there but I believe they've rebranded.
