From the referral link from my Amex account:

145,000 bonus Membership Rewards points (for applicant)
when you apply by 5 April 2021, are approved and spend $3,000 on your Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership. This offer is available to new Card Members only.

As previous threads have mentioned before, some key benefits:
  • $400 travel credit every year which offsets the annual fee of $395 (even for second year onwards if you decide to keep it)
  • 2 MR points per $1 spent on everyday purchases (2 MR points = 1 Frequent Flyer mile in 9 different airlines including SIA, Emirates, etc)
  • Smartphone Screen Insurance for up to $500 for screen repairs to your Smartphone when you pay for your phone or monthly contract with your American Express Explorer® Credit Card
  • Enjoy two complimentary entries per year to the American Express Lounge, located at Sydney International Airport or Melbourne International Airport.
Minimum income is $65,000.

As referrer, I receive 60,000 Membership Rewards points if you are successful.

Thank you!

Question for anyone with this card. Can these points still be transferred to Marriott bonvoy

THIS IS BIG!

The time is now! The stars have aligned and anyone without an AMEX in their pocket have hit the jackpot. Of course I'm talking about – The AMEX Explorer Card!

The big sign up bonus is back! Correction: It is not back! This is unprecedented! We have seen a slightly higher bonus before however it required paying the 2nd year annual fee. This one is right off the bat after meeting the spend criteria! Sign up using a referral link, and you'll earn 145,000 points (as a referrer, I'll earn 60,000 points for each referral made).

My referral link can be found HERE

Details are: Receive up to 145,000 Membership Rewards® Bonus Points when you apply online by 5 April 2021 and spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. Card comes with a $395 annual fee.
Other key highlights:

· $400 travel credit for American Express Travel (book flights, car hire and hotels online - I've found AMEX competitive when compared to other major online travel booking engines) - (offsets the $395 annual fee)
· The usual suite of insurances are provided, including Smartphone Screen Insurance when you pay for your phone / contract with AMEX (for up to $500 repairs).
· 2 x invites to the AMEX Sydney International lounge are also on offer.

I signed up to this card in early December and it has been nothing short of fantastic. I’m not a big spender by any means but with an earn on spend of 2pts per $ on almost everything I’ve seen my points balance increase at a pretty quick pace. Add in the $400 travel credit which more than offsets the annual fee and the continuous stream of AMEX promotions and this becomes a no brainer.

As many would know Mrs NoName and I have gone on a few trips to the US & Europe and have chronicled our journeys pigging out on a few trip reports. Well we were meant to be doing another one over the past Xmas/New Year period which was obviously abandoned. We have reschedule for the end of this year with and have the fingers crossed. If you enjoyed my previous trip reports and would like to help make another one possible then a sign-up through my link would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for helping me produce another instalment of fun, frivolity and gluttonous food consumption!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This has been my 'go to' AMEX card for some time now. Points transfer has so many options, including Marriott Bonvoy, Air New Zealand, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Hilton Honours. Of course 'warehousing' your points is a great option too.

As the OP indicates, definitely a great time to get onto this card if you have the opportunity. Some tips that I'd highlight for anyone considering this card:

Tip 1: You'll get the $400 travel credit after the end of the first statement when you've paid the first annual fee. But you can access a second $400 travel credit for free. At around the 11 month mark another $400 travel credit will be loaded to your account in anticipation of you renewing that card for the second year and paying the $400 annual fee again. You can use that second $400 travel credit immediately (for future bookings) and then cancel your card before actually paying the second annual fee.

Tip 2: Don't forget you can add up to 4 supplementary card holders at no extra fee to maximise those cash back opportunities (eg small shop).

Tip 3: Subscribe to this AFF thread to make sure you don't miss any of the cash back offers: New [Amex] statement credits

Tip 4: Sign up to a fee free AMEX card (eg The Qantas American Express Discovery Card) at the same time that you sign up for this Explorer card. One of the significant benefits of AMEX can be the cash back/small shop promotions. The more cards that you have for these promotions the more you can potentially benefit. So if you sign up for the AMEX Explorer card and get the 4 free supplementary cards on offer, you'll have 5 cards in total. But if you sign up for a fee free AMEX card and get an additional 4 supplementary cards for that new fee free card, you'll now have 10 cards in total for the same annual fee of the Explorer card! Worried about having too many cards at the same time by applying for this fee free card as well? It's not the number of cards that you should be worried about, it's the total amount of credit that you have. So just specify a very low limit for this new fee free AMEX. Say $1000. Of course having this new fee free AMEX card will count for the 18 month exclusion period. So remember to cancel the fee free AMEX card at thee same time you cancel the Explorer card. The 18 month period will then start for you. Having 10 AMEX cards can hopefully be of enormous benefit to you. I know it has been for me!

Thank you for considering using my referral link (I may earn a reward from this):

Just a quick reminder that this incredible offer ends tomorrow. It’s well worth it for anyone looking to add an AMEX to their wallet. If you do apply, please use either my or another member’s referral links in this thread. The win win is always much appreciated by all!

Highly suggest using a referral link with the higher targetted bonus. I got a referral link which offers applicant 175,000 bonus points, 50,000 for me as referrer. Very good deal for applicant while helping out a fellow AFFer.
