Now, I have searched the forum, ventured into Flyer talk and general google but I seem unable to find the PNR for an AA booking. I’ve tried all the suggestions - BA, FinAir and Qantas. Has this trick been stopped now?

How did you book the flight? QF award?
No, on AA. Couldn’t seem to get anything for the time other than 6am and I knew there was a better 9.45am flight to Grand Canyon via Phoenix. Couldn’t find it on AA points either so probably no availability in U.

But AA uses Sabre do you won't see it on any Amadeus airline (QF, BA, AY et al).

Maybe virtuallythere.com ?

Or a Sabre using airline? (VA, NZ et al)

The record locator = PNR

Should be on your e-ticket

I have the 6 letter Reservation number but would like to add it to CheckMyTrip and see it in Qantas.

I tried Virtually There and it said there was no email attached to the booking? I know there was. I’ll double back to AA and check all is in order there then try again.

CheckMyTrip and see it in Qantas

They are both Amadeus. So unless two PNRs were created (eg from booking he AA flight on the Qantas website) you'll not see it there.

Ok, all seems in order. Says it’s ticketed and FF recorded. Allowed me to select priority seats for free - means it must have recognised status?

We used to be able to do this though? I remember booking award seats through AA and then the flights would show in Q account. Maybe I rang and got the PNR?

If you were using Qantas points to book an AA flight on the Qantas website, you'd get both an Amadeus and a Sabre PNR. Like when you book a QF flight on EK aircraft. Two GDS/reservation systems. Two PNRs created.

Using AA points to book a QF flight would do the same thing. Two GDS/reservation systems. Two PNRs created.

Booking an AA operated flight directly on the AA website would only create one PNR, AFAIK.

I used AA points to book on AA website on Qantas plane. Maybe that’s the difference. This booking is on AA planes.
Sabre systems isn’t recognising it either, I can only see it on AA. Might call them tomorrow. Says it’s ticketed though and I have all those numbers.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes. I added that bit later to my post! Two GDS/reservation systems. Two PNRs created.

Really poorly explained questions end up wasting people's time.
Seriously? That isn’t exactly the spirit we have on AFF. If it’s a waste of your time then don’t bother posting. Thankfully other long termers here are helpful.

Have booked another flight but AA uses Amadeus not Sabre?7E68FECA-B92E-45E7-BBC9-3729293B5FE6.jpeg

Only for their Asia Pacific booking system. I believe it does spit out an Amadeus record locator.

Yes, seriously. It's just basic manners.

Ironic much.

I never say this to people who haven’t been on the forum for long but I’m going to break that rule. You really need to learn about the culture of helpful people here and who just dont chastise people in the manner in which your post did.
