I have a "first world" problem (i.e I'm just inquisitive) about Amadeus I'd be happy if someone could explain............

Situation is that we have an upcoming IB flight in J (ORY - MAD) and I don't understand why BA, QF and IB all have a different "confirmed" seat selections for the same flight, which puzzles me because I understand each airline uses Amadeus and the info should therefore be uniform. I selected 3A & C some time ago via the QR MMB, which is what IB is showing on their website, but BA shows our seats as 1C & F and QF says "seats not selected". There hasn't been any change of aircraft. I noticed the difference about 2 weeks ago and expected it to self-correct but it hasn't happened. No discrepancies with our seat selections for other flights.

IME BA likes to mess around with seat selections... but there could be another reason too.

I've just used it to select my seat on an upcoming IB flight SCL-MAD as part of a DONE5 booked through QF. It was the only flight out of QF, BA, AA, LA, AY that I was unable to select the seat for.

If I got on the IB web site and went to seat selection it returned a message to the effect that there is a 'technical problem', but it's been doing that for weeks.

Just because they all use Amadeus does not mean you only have 1 record locator. Are any of your flights on codeshares?
