Alternative to TripIt = TripWaffle

Bit of a humblebrag, but we recently anonymised an assortment of real world emails we've processed and forwarded them off to tripit...

I was planning to add a comment tonight about one of those very emails! I was very impressed that a to-and-fro email thread about a booking, but lacking any simple clear summary, was successfully processed into an event in Tripwaffle. I sent it through as a test of how well the interpretative-AI element works on such loose conversation, and was duly impressed.

Thanks for the offline feature, and everything else! I took a WiFi-less flight yesterday to test the system and I noticed that offline times are displayed in UTC without a time zone indicator. I don’t mind too much but others might find it confusing.
Good catch- as you've seen, offline mode is pretty minimal at present, but will improve with each app release. I'll make sure timezone resolution makes it into the next release.

1. What's the logic on how the system detects the inbound and outbound part of a trip?
I have my location set to BNE and my imported FR24 history has detected and populated trips pretty well back to mid-2018. However, prior to tat date I lived in another city and the system is matching the inbound sector of a trip with the outbound sector of a subsequent trip.
Problem is that there isn't a built-in way to retroactively switch home airports mid-history, so I'm afraid the cleanest path at this point is what you're doing in the reorganiser. That said, if there's any mass changes to just your trips we can apply at our end, please just shout.
3. In the reorganiser, can the drop down menu from the search field be expanded to show more than 12 results please?
Easy fix- now bumped to 50.

Editing and cleaning up trips imported from myFR24 - extra trips generated- down memory lane!

I’m back to 2011 so far. I’m amazed at the domestic - International and international - International connections I took back then ( as in, tight) . Wouldn’t dream of them today with the delays we experience now.

Ever since I’ve had iPhones, about 2009, I’ve entered my flights and hotels in the same systematic way into the calendar so editing them in TW has been pretty easy. Before then I don’t know. I did a big reconstruction of my early flights/ trips for myFR24 by requesting copies of my Int’l arriving cards via freedom of information and also used my passport stamps to reconstruct trips. A lot of domestic trips missing, going back to ~1970s.

That's amazing- I regale my kids with stories of when air travel actually felt glamorous (except maybe the smoking sections).
As a defence-force brat I logged a few interstate trips on Hercules C-130s too ... might need to add that aircraft type to TW now I think of it 🤔

So the response from tripit

Just got the same response myself. They might have figured out that some people are looking at competing products and want to "trap" our data.
