Alternate programme for SCs and miles

I'm looking for some advice here... not far off requal for WP this year and will do so on my next J class QF flight to London. Question is, where should I credit the status credits and miles on the return leg back to OZ (and subsequent flights)? Is there any reason i'd want to set up another Oneworld (or other) account to credit these to?

If i did start crediting to another programme, would I be able to use my QF WP card to access Qantas Club/Biz lounges while having another FF prog on my boarding pass?

You might want to look at AAdvantage as the aawards are much cheaper. A common strategy on this board is to credit to AAdvantage after QFF status re/qual is achieved.

Simply carry your WP card with you for Flounge access.

OK, thanks for that. Presume i'm still best to book flights giving my QF WP number for access to preferred seating and potential for op-ups then ask check in desk to change to AA pre-flight?

Yep, but just beware of miles going to the wrong program which can take ages to reverse.

Otherwise there is the option to march towards 14000 SCs and lifetime gold (with lounge access). might be a good time to be doing that before QF decide to 'enhance' that benefit. (please ignore this if you already have said lifetime status )

Ah, good point - hadn't thought of that, but i am quite far off... not even at LT Silver!!! Anyway, thanks both for suggestions!
