Hi All,
Pop quiz advice needed here. Have already retained WP but won't get to 2500 let alone WP1 before Aug31 (without some significant DSCs). Have to fly to Bali for work and got DeathStar J tickets and am wondering if it's worth adding the $400 for SCs and points, or not. Points look like 17250 for $400 - I don't need the lounge at either end as I get Flounge in Syd, and will use a Priority Pass in DPS on the way back...

What are the community's thoughts on this?

What else you could do with the $ is probably the answer.

My opinion is don't bother.

That's what I was thinking... for some reason (AFF addict?) needed AFF's confirmation :)

Whats your loyalty bonus situation, the 200 could get you another 8K you were not counting on.

I'd go for it based on your 79% LTG. $400 for 200SC looks cheap.....SYD-BNE-SYD @ $200 would only reap 20SC

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Good point... at 2 of 4, with 155 until the next which I will get through a BKK trip, as well as a RDU trip over the next couple of weeks. Even so, would 25k points be worth $400... hmmm

As a personal choice I probably would go for the points, all that suffering on Jetstar so you may as well get something.

RDU? heading upto GSO myself in a few weeks too.

Outbound on the 14th via DFW - Return via LAX on the 20th

Our paths overlap but do not cross. Outbound via DFW on 10th, return via LAX on 18th. I may see you if the A380 has some serious delays :p

For $400 you get:

- points which based on QF's "Pay With Points" value are worth about $138
- SCs which are only going to add to your LTG tally, something I suspect will be made "simpler and fairer" in the not too distant future.

I'd pocket the $138 for your next flight and use the remaining $262 to save/charity/buy something you want/gift to a loved one.

What if the OP is below qual level in the next three years, those 200 SC will come in handy when averaged across the years to get an average SC per year value? While its hard to say what that is worth, its certain the 200 SC wont be easily obtained in the future for $200.
