Allegations visa scam operating at second university - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
A corruption hearing has been told an immigration scam operating at Curtin University could also be running at the University of Western Australia.
The CCC is investigating allegations that foreign students paid tens of thousands of dollars in bribes to a Curtin employee to falsify English test results needed for visa applications.
Indian national Pritesh Shah has told the hearing that between 2009 and 2010 he earned more than $30,000 helping students obtain the fake results.
But, he said he was a middle man.
Mr Shah testified he would take the money from students, pass it onto another intermediary who would then arrange for his friend at Curtin's English School to doctor the results.
Mr Shah said he believed that friend was exam co-ordinator, Kevin Low.
