With the swap back to a non refurb 8 people that were in J on QF4 today ended up in whY.

There was one fantastic dummy spit from a points upgrade person.

Luckily I was in paid J. In saying that I'd probably have swapped for ORC and a refund :)

Isnt there more J seats on the non refurb?

EBQ will shortly undertake a test flight after its C check. Will be interesting to see if it's had a crew rest, extra toilets and larger galley put in to enable flying to long haul destinations like HNL HKG PVG PEK.

Would there have been time to do such a lot of work?

There is nothing on the QF website to indicate that any new 332 config is coming. By contrast, the 789 seatmaps are already showing, though they are 9 months away from being introduced.

From some other posts on Instagram it was a C4 check which means all seats removed.

If you are going to make config changes it would be the perfect time, albeit I would have thought some confirmation would have leaked or been announced

EBQ returned to service today operating QF51 to SIN from BNE with a 2 hour delay. The plane pushed back on time but returned to the gate shortly after :-|

Looking at expertflyer it appears that there was no change to the configuration.

So the wait continues....

Couldn't see any changes either, and no charge to the website maps.

Looks like QPC went into the shed

SIN bound flights can take a 2 hour delay with minimal impact to the schedule of the returning flight, so if it's something they can fix within a few hours, they usually just stick with the plane.

True. Suppose they can swap the planes in SIN if one flight is running really late if needed.

Weirdly, my 17 March QF107 SYD-PEK has changed to an A330-300. The My Flights app alerted me, and I've confirmed that the seat map has changed. I thought it was out of range for an A330-300, but saw a couple of weeks ago that the flight was then also operated by an A330-300 with no stops. Will they have to carry a light load?

For what it's worth, the seat map in Y is almost completely empty from what I can see. However, this may be normal 4 weeks out, I'm not sure.

Non status pax have to pay for seat allocation... with $299 return fares (or whatever they were in that region) I suspect there may be a fair few non-status. The A33s flying to shanghai were weight restricted... can't remember the exact number, but it was substantial (20 or 40 seats?) But they don't necessarily all come from economy... if business is empty they can change the mix.

On QF5 in March, the seat map doesn't seem to look like either of the non-refurbs but as I'm flying Y I'm not sure if there is another way to tell ? (Other than checking with someone who is booked in J to see if it's 2-2-2 or 1-2-1?) am I missing something ?

Do you have a screenshot of the seat map you can see?

Qantas A330 refurbishment delayed

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has an update on the refurbishment of the new business suites for VH-EBG & EBL, which was apparently delayed last year while Qantas determines what to do with these aircraft, since their lease is close to expiring.
I've noticed that QF-5/6 SIN to SYD is using the older aircraft on most days, and I'd prefer to change my flights to one with a better chance of getting the new business suite if this won't be upgraded by end of April.

Is anyone aware of Qantas' plans on the final two A330s yet to be upgraded.
