Grand Sud MERLOT 2015 1 Litre Product of France $8.00 if they have any stock left. Blue and Yellow Cap
Drinkable, nothing remarkable, but nothing bad either. But different from Aussie usuals. The next best deal is coles or Dans 2 for 1 or 1/2 price offers. What I dont drink gets tipped into the slow cooker for beefy soup.

Life is too short to drink rubbish like this.

Aldi strikes me as value for money, rather than quality. Their products aim for good, no-nonsense, steady-as-she-goes. For wine, I'd be sure that it's all very drinkable, and if you are catering the footy team's end of season do, this is just the right stuff.

But you likely wouldn't go back to fill your cellar with it.

Having said that, I keep going back to Aldi. I can get most of my grocery shopping done very quickly, the tables in the middle often have some bargains, and although the packaging is deliberately designed to echo the name brands, what's inside is usually of similar quality.

We pay quite a lot for a wider choice of well-advertised brands. The big modern supermarkets are intended to keep you in the shop as long as possible, wandering here and there, being exposed to buying opportunities. With Aldi, you can do a circuit of the shop in five minutes.

With October almost on us, Aldi usually do a few Oktoberfest specials. Wine is one thing, but it's hard to go past good German beer.

All gone. No More. Same for the Spanish BVLand low alc booze.
I said value and the fleeting nature indicates low margin - even for Aldi.
You have to try a Mudgee wine to get that brown Frenchy taste. If you do enjoy life you know the French do not trust supermarket wine where the case numbers exceed production. Dans has a GSM like mixup last Friday= interesting.
Popped into Goulburn Wine and Spirits (Syd) for some Kosher plonk.
