I'll be travelling AKL-PER direct (NZ ticket/NZ metal) Premium Economy later this month, and just wanted to make sure that as a Velocity Platinum member, will I have access to the NZ Lounge at AKL prior to the flight? And will I be entitled to a guest as well? To save any embarrassment if I show up there and am not entitled to this benefit !

No views to the outside, the windows are opaque, ie, blurred.
Guess that even if it had views to the outside, the Koru club does not face the runways.
Blurred up to about slight above head height, then its clear glass, so its no a gloomy dark place, there is natural light.
I paid Nzd$55 to get in there, as I was flying as a VA PS on an NZ as a Works ticket.
Wanted to try it out.

Great :D Thank you all for your replies!

I have been in the AKL lounge three or four times in the last year, when I was travelling MEL-AKL-MEL but wasn't sure if the partnership benefit extended to the PER flights as well. I thought maybe it would have to had been booked with the VA flight number to gain access.

Hopefully the OP is not hoping to use the Koru in the next few days, TVNZ says that due to the very heavy rains, rain has fallen into the Koru Club lounge ceiling at Auckland Airport!!!
Very wet and windy they say there right now.
Flooding too.
All the best for those of you using AKL in the next few days.
Edit: there is also talk that the Koru Club at AKL will be redone up, like the SYD one in the next few months.
Could be a temp lounge if and when the AKL Koru is closed for redoing.
But thats down the track a bit, I think.

The new AKL lounge is being built now and due to open in August. It's a separate space so was no need for a temporary lounge.

The south end of the lounge does have full clear windows that overlook the departures shopping mall.
