Will be in AKL mid Nov. Is AKL duty free a good place to shop compared with Sydney duty free or even Sydney local prices?. Given the opportunity, what would you buy (if anything) at AKL duty free

Talking about alcohol only, compared to AU DF prices yes AKL is generally cheaper (however it pays to quickly check dan murphys price before you buy).
 
Sometimes the supermarkets in NZ have good deals too. But mostly on wine.
