Airport bag handling video

That's terrifying to watch as someone who is about to check a bag to Melbourne. I think I might see if I can squeeze it all into carry-on instead.

One of the bags is even thrown so hard it misses the belt and falls over the edge on the other side around 0:40.

I am not a fan of Qantas but I find this hard to believe unless these
bag snatchers have just been advised that they have been made redundant.

Criminal damage IMO. Virtually impossible to link victim and perpetrator but my point is...they are criminals.

Easily identifiable if the employer wanted to, taken from the link...

Not surprised at all really. Assuming this is a real video and not set up, the handlers are pushed to get the luggage unloaded and out quickly. And passengers complain when bags don't appear almost as soon as they get to the carousel. Of course if it was my piece of luggage being slammed down by one particular handler I would not be pleased but the generally throwing of bags onto the belt is normal I would think.

You don’t even need to ask the question ‘is it real’ if it’s Swissport aka Aerocare. Useless bottom feeding organisation. Pilots despise this mob from what I’ve been told.

All part of the risk management take by moving away from the in house operations to these nutjobs. Save $100m a year yes, but you now have a circus to deal with.

Perhaps Swissport should bring in a code of conduct.

Not surprised to see bags treated like this.
Wonder what happened to the bags that went over the far side of the belt?

I think it's both real and a set up.

My theory is the guy in the foreground filmed himself deliberately. That camera doesn't look hidden, and he's acting in a way like he's showing off to the camera. Otherwise it's a bit of a coincidence that this camera has a perfect shot of him and the guy next to him is laughing while he does it.

I've read some theories elsewhere he's an ex QF employee that's been hired by the contractor and trying to discredit QF and/or the contractor.
