No, that is not going to happen.

Not to mention that no one - not the New Zealand government - will save Air NZ if they screw themselves this time.

But given that Air NZ has a fairly good rep, a deep order book (many new aircraft coming), I don't think they're at any risk this time.

Just interesting how VA is taking on more foreign ownership, and NZ wishing to take a larger stake in VA.

ROFL, Virgin (DJ) was 100% foreign owned when it started.

So as long as there is any Aussie ownership at all, no matter how small, it will always be more than when they started up. (And more than there should be IMO, Australia shouldn't waste its precious capital investing in never-make-much-return airlines, when foreign governments are prepared to do it for us!)
