Just in case any of you have not seen this site, it surveys quite a large number of the world airlines. There are flyers reports which are informative and sometimes quite funny in that they have probably happened to you as well.
Go to:
www.carsurvey.org
and select Airline Survey at the top of the page. There were over 5000 reviews on my last visit.

Some of these were hilarious, others just downright shocking.

But I can agree - at the end of the Hong Kong to Sydney QF flight, I've been on sometimes, the economy class cabin in the plane looked like a herd of elephants had gone through it, the washrooms had toilet paper everywhere. :D

I've never tried (but I would love to) Cathay Pacific airlines.

BTW, do the airlines ever take note of what people put up in these kind of 'survey' webpages that you pointed out ?

Passenger Classes / Race

It's interesting from that, some of the airline comments. On some of the QF runs from SE Asia to Oz, many Asian passengers have said there's a difference between the subtle treatment of them versus Caucasian passengers, even bordering on almost racist behaviour by FAs.

Anyone had any similar experiences / comments ?

For the record, I'm white and my fiancee is HK Asian. I can't say that I've ever been meted out any particularly bad behaviour on a QF flight by an FA just because of who my fiancee is.

One AA comment that raised my eyebrows was an international passenger who was told by the FAs 'not to look at anyone in the business cabin' as they walked through to the economy section ! :O

That kind of behaviour would get you smacked out in oz.

Probably an important question is whether this was airline policy or just an individuals thoughts. I suspect it was just the individual, although nothing surprises me any more :!:

I do agree thought that

My late wife was Japanese and in all her many flights between Tokyo and Australia never once experienced anything but equal treatment from Qantas or JAL staff. A lot of it is in over-sensitive peoples minds, if you want to feel insulted then you can usually find a reason.
I reckon if I had to feed 300 people and stay awake all night then I would get a bit short at times. FAs do a fantastic job, look at the recent Tassy actions which were totally selfless.

FAs do a fantastic job

Over the years I believe I've seen both sides of the equation.

By far the worst FA story was a QF where there was no problem with

as the FA's packed everything up after about 2hrs and went to sleep themselves. No more service was made available until just short of arrival. (Not sure they could/would get away with that these days though)

On the other side of the coin the worst I've seen was on a UA flight out of Atlanta when several of the FA's were abused because they hadn't served breakfast before the pushback.

I guess what I'm saying is that it occurs both ways but in general the FA's do a great job despite their treatment by a small percentage of the passengers.
