Airline schedule change of 90 minutes - grounds for a refund?

I'm flying QF BNE->SIN return and the return time has been moved earlier by 90 minutes.

I'd prefer to cancel and flip to Etihad for a direct flight back that is later than the original QF time - giving a better buffer for our inbound flights.

But QF said no to the cancellation - the time change is "too minor"; refunds would only be possible if the change was between night and day or a date change.

It isn't a major issue for me, just raised the question - when does an airline initiated change to a flight scheduled constitute grounds for a refund?

Are your inbound flights on the same ticket? or were booked seperately to your Intl sector?

The inbound flights are separate tickets non-OW. Buffer time will probably be fine even with the new time; I'm mostly just curious where the line is drawn for a refund...

If you pushed the matter, I think 90 minutes would be enough of a change to warrant a refund.

IMHO any scheduled change where the airline initiated a change of schedule well before departure, or any change beyond MCT at either the departure or arrival airport on the day should entitle a person to a refund.

That said, actually getting airlines to offer refunds can be very difficult.
