Airline glitch takes Mideast conflict to new heights

JERUSALEM (AFP) – Irate Israeli passengers have complained to British BMI airline that the Jewish state was wiped off the inflight map which showed flights bound for Israel were instead heading to Mecca.

Talk about a storm in a teacup. Looks like a fairly small oversight on bmi's part. More funny than anything else.

"Doing business with Israel has its advantages and disadvantages, but we will not agree to a situation where they hide the existence of Israel but want to do business with Israel," transport ministry director-general Gideon Sitterman told army radio.

It makes sense that Muslim countries wouldn't list Israel on the map, I wonder if anyone has noticed it missing on any flights that leave Iran in that general direction?
