So late next year im flying CDG to JFK via LHR in J. Got an email last night about some changes.
Original plan is to go CDG to LHR with BA307 then LHR to JFK with AA105 all on the same PNR.

The AA105 flight was moved back by 2h 25min. So my 2h connection becomes a 4h 25min connection.

The reason i planned to go via LHR is that AA is using the reburb'd 777-200 i believe on that LHR - JFK route which i though might be better than getting some of the older BA or AA planes. Lie flat vs angle, service quality ect.
But i am aware the BA flights CDG to LHR is a A319 euro style J which is just a Y seat with middle blocked out.

Call my TA who advised many options are available including changing to a direct flight with BA or AA, changing to a later departing flight from CDG or getting a much earlier set of flights such as BA303 then AA101. I should decide what i would prefer and they will see whats possible.

Just wanted to get peoples advise on what i can or should go for. eg stick with longer connection, change to direct flight & which airline, change to just a later CDG flight with 2h 45min connection.
Any particular experience with these routes and aircraft??

If the later CDG departure just gives you a 2h45 connection to your preferred AA flight with the same operating aircraft, then just go for that.

If the AA flight is no longer the refurb'd aircraft, then i'd consider my preference of the other options (all the other options)- what are the aircraft options directly ex-CDG?

As far as ExpertFlyer tells me the aircraft looks the same.

Options out of CDG to JFK are AA with 777-200 or 757-200 using old J angle flat.
LHR to JFK i could switch to BA and get a 744 with club world if i didnt want/need to go AA and stick to a tighter connection.

Im leaning towards accepting the AA change and going for a later CDG to LHR flight but getting to JFK at 6pm isnt great. The earlier BA to AA set using same aircraft would mean a 7.30am CDG flight which is super early.
Any thoughts on aircraft types and product? BA 744 vs AA 772 reburb'd in J.

I'd take the 1800 JFK arrival over the 0730 CDG departure.

All else being equal!
