Airbus to offer planes with wider seats for obese on the A320 passenger jet

I'm a bit confused. I thought that the airline or final owner decides on the fitout subject to the relevant authority signing off on it?

So if RyanAir wanted to install a swing set instead of seats, Airbus wouldn't care less.

Although you'd still end up with a seat the size you get on a 737!

Given the A320 is wider than a 737, what they are saying is that instead of spreading the extra width across all three seats, they are adding it on to one of the seats.

Oh, true.

Do you really think the sports star earning millions off endorsements is flying whY?

He is if his regularly scheduled QF flight was cut from the route and only JQ is flying it.

Aren’t there a few big US airlines that don’t have a F/J cabin? I’m sure sports stars fly them.

I was thinking of US sports stars who actually rake in millions unlike "overpaid footballers" in Oz who are barely paid at all by comparison. I would expect them not to fly commercial if F was not an option - some "research"* shows that NFL teams tend to charter Jets.

* In the old days research used to mean getting up off your backside and finding stuff out - now it involves Google
