Re: An Airbus A321 missing in Egypt (~200 on board)

And there is nothing to suggest they are not supporting the victim's families. They could say, we are extremely sorry for your loss and will support you anyway we can - however, so far, our planes and pilots were not the cause.
For them to rule out the pilot or the aircraft so early seems like they're desperately trying to avoid blame before actually waiting for the investigation to release any findings. It would seem insincere to make statements about the cause of the crash (which we know aren't based on fact, but a company trying to avoid blame*) and then immediately say that they're sympathies are with the families...etc.

*and they're possibly not to blame, but that couldn't have been decided so shortly after the crash when they made those statements.

Being a decent person can mean you voiding your insurance coverage, especially if you admit that you are at fault but then the investigations/insurers indicate that you were not at fault at all or partially at fault.

Anyway, after an accident, RACV's response is "Do not admit liability for the motor vehicle accident, or blame yourself publicly ..."

what to do after an accident - RACV

and

NRMA's response is "Firstly, don't admit that you are at fault. Even though you believe your actions caused the accident..."

Advice For What Not To Do After A Car Accident
I'll have a read. My instinctive response is, though, that they're saying to not admit fault so that they can (partially) blame the other parties based on some technicality. Might work legally, but morally another issue.

Yes but they had multi-millions of $s in weapons and SA missiles covertly supplied by the US. Reap as ye sow.

Can't see much of a difference these days... money and munitions are pouring into the region.

Someone's got to use all those munitions being produced by US, UK, French, Russian, Czech, .... manufacturers! :) Was amused to read that the US called in Toyota executives to explain why ISIS were using lots of new Toyota hiluxes.

And why Australia is in the region shooting off US munitions at Aust taxpayers expense is just one of the things that is difficult to understand... But we are getting off topic I feel.

We saw exactly the same thing with MH17.

If NRMA, the leading Australian motoring group, advises you not to admit fault (regardless of fault or not) then that is good enough for me.

But then again, insurance law goes way back - read up on "Subrogation" and why the insurer does not want you to admit fault (regardless).

They think it may have been a bomb on board?

Egyptian authorities have detained two employees of Sharm el-Sheikh airport for questioning in connection with the downing of the Russian jet on October 31 that killed all 224 people on board. Russia's FSB security service said on Tuesday it was certain a bomb had brought down the plane, joining Britain and the United States in reaching that conclusion.
Egypt has not yet confirmed that a bomb was responsible, saying it wants to wait until all investigations are complete. It took em awhile to get to this after vehemently denying and such thing. Look at MH-17 Russia is still denying it they should just Fess up but they are A...holes

One important aspect about the Russians is that they understand the effectivness of the rule of the iron fist.

Dissenters, extremists or anyone who does not fit into the middle section of the Bell Curve just don't get arrested, they dissapear.

A few other places had the same rule of law ... until the political Elite in the West thought they knew better!
