I know it is OT with respect to QF but has anyone traveled in the new J class on AB. Secondly we want to fly ex Germany to AUH in the new J but keep getting the impression that AB is offering the older seat maps even though some of these flights offer the new J. AB offers a schedule for the new J on their site but it is only for the next couple of days in advance, not weeks in advance. Is it simply a case, that you pay your money and simply take your chances that you will get the new J.

I have not travelled the new J but walked past the Business cabin last month on a flight from DUS to LAX. Operated by a A330-200, I am quite certain that AB's new J is the exact same as Etihad's J and it looked very comfortable. I have no input in relation to which routes new J is offered...

I think that you are correct in that the new J on AB is is similar to Etihad's J (Identical I think), in fact, I read somewhere that part of the deal of extending their reach to Asia and Australia (using Etihad's codeshare), that AB had to upgrade to the new J on the route to AUH ex DE.
