I haven't seen this posted elsewhere on AFF.

AirAsia is now back on the PER-DPS route after a long break.

Jetstar has also now resumed flights on all its pre-COVID routes from Australia to Bali, albeit in some cases with reduced frequency.

Not on the PER-DPS route. Just SYD, BNE and MEL as far as I can see?

SYD and BNE from what i can see. MEL fares seems to be routed via the other two.

JQ is a strong performer on MEL-DPS with twice daily.

One of which is operated by A320?

It was - the second flight has / or soon to switch to 787.

I was booked for sept and relieved to see it has switched from A320 to 787 :)

VA has direct flights loaded on MEL-DPS from 17 June (the flights are VA93/94 - some are already sold out so aren't appearing when you search for flights.)

Looks like Malindo Air is also back on PER-KUL, with MEL-DPS-KUL restarting on 18 June and BNE-DPS-KUL from 19 June.

Batik Air Malaysia will start 4x weekly PER-DPS-KUL flights from 15 September.

You'd think there would be money to be made on this route, especially with all the J* cancellations!

Virgin have their own problems with cancellations though - highest in Australia and more than double Qantas - the staff shortage is biting everyone severely....

Not sure there is any relevance though. VA aren't flying PER-DPS. J* are and of late one of the three flights daily is being cancelled.

Because staffing is the main issue and its affecting the whole business not just select routes. It will impact their ability to launch any competition to 'make some money on this route' even with the Jetstar cancellations.

Plenty of other airlines have plied this route previously that currently aren't flying it. Doesn't have to be VA.
