Looking for adecent airline to fly from Ottawa to Las Vegas (April 2015).

Initially was going to book with Air Rouge until i read a few reviews, none seems to enjoy flying with them from the reviews I have read.

Any suggestions, am i better getting to a busier hub and flying with a main stream airline?

Prefer traveling in business / first if possible

I flew in and out via ORD to Ottawa on AA (CRJ with F seats, but they also fly non F ERJs so be careful which one you book).

Ottawa is poorly served, maybe Air Canada is best bet for a good J/F option?

'Rouge' (otherwise known as 'Rogue') is of course Air Canada's LCC. Treat it as you would Jetstar (they'll treat you like Jetstar do). I used to fly Air Canada LAX-YYC-LAX in J a fair bit but now fly Alaskan via Seattle after Air Canada 'Rouged' the LAX service.

Westjet only offers Economy, but its generally a good journey. I don't know the routing, but that should be OK.

Air Canada very expensive, even in economy :(. I'd try any of the American carriers before Air Canada.

Wow cant believe the lack of service to Ottawa.... looks like i will fly back to Toronto with AC and then jump on AA to Las Vegas

I agree with a number of other posters already advising avoiding Air Canada if possible within North America. Air Rouge is a new start-up for them, I have yet to fly with their new LCC subsidiary but as many have pointed out many routes are now flow Air Rouge rather than the mainline carrier, including a couple of European destinations such as Edinburgh for example.

In fact, Ottawa is not all that far from Toronto 's Pearson Airport or Montreal's Trudeau Airport , both of which have far better route networks than Ottawa that may be worth considering.

If you can make it over the border to Buffalo Airport ( like hundreds of thousands of Canadians do..... Not kidding btw ) ..... Airfares get so much cheaper :)

I have a flight from YVR to LAS booked in Premium Rouge. I did some checking before booking and looks ok to me. Its not an exceptionally long flight. Usual business class facilities including lounge access at YVR. (I know, Maple lounges are not what we expect back here, but at least it is a lounge away from the rif raf)

Any chance of a Trip Report, with pics of cabin etc?

If you decide to connect rather than fly direct I can vouch for Alaskan also. They're not super premium, but get the basics right.

if you want to go direct and are prepared to look at a LCC the Westjet is the best of the bunch discussed.
