From "The Australian" today a small comment on the NZ election and the state of the union address by John Key NZ PM.

Mr Key, who led his National Party to victory three years ago..., already set the tone of the election in his state-of-the-nation address last week. The Prime Minister said he was preparing to go to the polls with a plan to partly privatise several state-owned enterprises, including Air New Zealand, in an effort to bring down the country's mounting debt.

Could make an interesting shake up in the aviation world of down under if they allowed the majority of ownership to be outside NZ, but I doubt that this would happen.

Explains a little more why Air NZ didn’t want a VB board seat just yet..
Could we see V NZ or VBZ or now that NZ own themselves again, maybe AN as well  its a good little brand, hasn't been used for a while, we might still have some banners and logos, business cards as well.:p

Air NZ was effectively majority Singapore owned before it was nationalised
