I will be flying with Air Canada later this year - mainly short, domestic flights within Canada - discount economy.

Any suggestions on which FFP would be best to join? Main objective is to accrue sufficient points/miles over time for business or first class travel.

Cheers

A lot of Tango fares (IIRC fare classes E, N and T but could be wrong on this) are non-mileage earning on any FFP.

Air Canada are part of the Star Alliance network, is this what you were after?

I know Air Canada are part of Star Alliance.

What I am asking is which FFP is better to accrue points with?

For example, I am a KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines) member, but not a member of Aeroplan (Air Canada's FFP). So, from experience, does anyone know whether it is more beneficial to accrue with KrisFlyer or Aeroplan?

I would check what fare class your flights are booked in. There's a good chance you wont earn any miles in any *A FFP.

As to which FFP is better, KrisFlyer doesnt have minimum mileage so if the flights are short may be better off with another program that does have minimum mileage (eg UA Mileage Plus) - I dont know if AC Aeroplan has minimum mileage. Need to balance that with not having miles scattered in too many programs and other considerations.
