Hi Guys... I am looking at flying direct BNE - HNL this year with the newly named Air Australia (X Alliance). Has anybody flown with them as yet and can give me a heads up. I presume their business class is like Jetstar ??

Cheers,
Roger :)

Check your travel insurance very carefully before you buy the ticket. Read the fine print

Some reviews here:
Strategic Airlines Customer Reviews | SKYTRAX

Will be interesting to see if they are in it for the long-haul though.

Unfortunate that the reviews are from 2 airlines but of the Australian reviews it's not looking good.

Has anyone said not fit to carry the name 'Australia'? I guess the previously reviewed flights were Strategic though...

We have just come back from Honolulu (a few days ago) and very grateful to get our feet on terrafirma safely.

In a nutshell : STAY AWAY

Our flight can best be summarised : VC002 Honolulu to Brisbane Sat 7th - Worst flight ever. Old plane, broken seats, broken arm rest, no music, no movies, no reading lights, out-of-order toilet, blocked basin, very poor service. NEVER EVER AGAIN! “

I have written to them and to date have had no response of any kind.
Says it all....

Air Australia are not ex Alliance - they used to be Strategic and inherited their RPT ops licence from OzJet. Both A330s were made in 2000.

How is their contingency planning especially if a 330 goes tech?
